effect、consequence、result三字有何分別？

(1)effect一般指較直接的效果，例如：
Our warning did not have much effect on him.

我們的警告對他沒有多大效果。
(2)consequence指「後果」，例如：
Should a third world war break out, the consequences would be unthinkable.

如果爆發第三次世界大戰，後果不堪設想。

(3)result指「結果」，例如：
