feel bad, or feel badly

(1) 有部份人會用feel bad。
(2) 但實際上,feel bad和feel badly都有使用。

(3) 一般人認為,feel是聯繫動詞,須以形容詞(如bad)來作表語[述語](predicative);若用副詞(如badly)作表語,便算錯誤。

(4) 上述觀點正確,但語言有時講求「約定俗成」(common usage agreement),不宜「一本書睇到老」,而feel badly便屬積非成是之用法。

(5) 據學者R. Quirk稱,feel後面的副詞可表達強烈感情,例如:

I feel badly about your leaving so soon.
你這麼早就走,我深感難過。

(7) 陸谷孫《英漢大詞典》有相關的用法及例句如下:

feel badly about a loss
[another's misfortune] 
因受損失 [他人的不幸] 而感到難過
She felt badly about being late.
她因遲到而感難過。
(8) 美國小說家Theodore Dreiser在作品中寫道:

Don't feel badly, I was only joking with you.

不要難過,我剛才只是跟你開玩笑。
